  9. ARTISOFT'S SALES, NET INCOME AND EARNINGS PER SHARE AT 
  10. RECORD LEVELS IN QUARTER ENDED MARCH 31, 1992

  12. (TUCSON, Ariz. -- April 16, 1992) -- Artisoft, Inc. 
  13. announced today that its sales, net income, and 
  14. earnings per share were at record levels for the three 
  15. months ended March 31, 1992, the third quarter of the 
  16. company's current fiscal year.

  18. Sales for the period were $20,274,000, an increase of 
  19. 96 percent over the $10,354,000 recorded in the same 
  20. quarter a year earlier.

  22. Net income, at $3,588,000, was 71 percent above last 
  23. year's $2,098,000 for the same period. Per share 
  24. earnings for the 1992 quarter, at 21 cents, also a 
  25. record high, were 40 percent above the 15 cents 
  26. recorded a year earlier.

  28. C. John Schoof II, Artisoft's President and CEO, said 
  29. the improved earnings were the result of a greater 
  30. penetration of Artisoft products in the local area 
  31. network market. He attributed the success to greater 
  32. appreciation of Artisoft products by buyers of 
  33. networking systems. During the quarter, Artisoft 
  34. introduced LANtastic(R) version 4.1, an improved 
  35. version of its award-winning LANtastic network 
  36. operating system.

  38. In the first nine months of the 1992 fiscal year, 
  39. sales, net income and earnings per share have already 
  40. exceeded the levels achieved for all of fiscal 1991.

  42. Sales for the nine months ended March 31, 1992, were 
  43. $51,787,000, an increase of 82 percent over the 
  44. $28,481,000 reported for the same nine months a year 
  45. earlier. Earnings for the first nine months, at 
  46. $8,999,000, were 90 percent above the $4,728,000 
  47. earned in the year earlier period. Earnings per share 
  48. for the current fiscal year to date were 55 cents 
  49. compared to 34 cents for the year earlier period.
